About Me

I am a born and raised Oklahoma girl. I graduated from the University of Oklahoma with a Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education in 2004.  While teaching, I continued my education and graduated with a Master’s degree in Reading Education in May 2007 from OU. Time flies when you are having fun.  I am currently in my 15th year of teaching. I have a range of experiences from two year olds to first graders. I absolutely love the development of the five and six year old and am privileged to spend my days as a Kindergarten teacher!

About My Classroom...
I feel strongly about creating a solid classroom community where children feel like they are home while they are at school.  Routines and expectations are an important component.  Responsive Classroom has helped my classroom and instruction evolve throughout my teaching career.  You can learn more about it and find resources here:  https://www.responsiveclassroom.org/ and http://www.originsonline.org/responsive-classroom.  I have had the opportunity to find and borrow so many amazing resources from other teacher bloggers which has led me to wanting to share some of my own experiences and ideas.
